A date confession..

1st of all... I kinda like the title of this entry as it actually consist lots of stories behind it, at least for me.
**My new Swaroszki ring, :)**

As I mentioned in this entry, I wanted to reward myself of my little tiny achievement. So... what did I do?? No big thing... I went to watch a movie at a cinema with Syawal. A movie that I've been waiting for so long.... Confession of a shopaholic. A movie that has been adapted from the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella, my fav author. I've told syawal I wanted to watch this movie since last year and he must watch it with me. Well, I would say it's like a date for us as we seldom go out together, just the two us. & of course we have to go during syafique's skool time, *wink3x*.

The show was at 12.30pm & we're already there at 12pm. Since both of us had not eaten yet, so we took our brunch there. I just had yummy2 spicy onion rings as I planned to buy pop corn later & syawal had vegetarian breakfast. The potatoes in his b'fast set were really tasty. Anyway, whenever you go out with Syawal, eating outside is compulsory & with me who is a big eater, we're really make a good team, hikhikhik.

After bought our popcorn & pepsi, we entered exactly at 12.30pm, the 1st show of the day. As expected, the place wasn't full at all & most of them were women. I think there were only 2 men in there. So.. how's the movie??? Love it, love it, love it & syawal has the same thought too *yey*. When I asked him to accompany me, he didn't really keen to follow as he knew it is a 'girl' story. But since I really wanted to watch it, he just followed. Me too, was a bit skeptical on can they make this movie as fun as the novels. Indeed they can. While watching it, I kept remembering every scene in the novels. It was the combination of all the best parts from the shopaholic series. 'Luke Brandon' is really handsome + macho. Again, when u watch a'girl' story with men, they always have different view, huh. But who cares, right???

By the time the movie was over, it was just nice for us to pick up syafique from skool. And the other best thing.... a fren gave us delicious nasi dagang so I didn't have to cook :), hikhikik. Plus I was very hungry after the movie as I only had onion rings & pop corn.

Can you keep a secret?

That is actually the latest Sophie Kinsella's novel that I just read. Very2 worth reading. I finished reading it in just one night & it was really full of emotions.. Again, Sophie Kinsella never fail to amuse me with her piece. I borrowed this novel from a friend a day before.

The book starts with lots of giggling. Syafique was besides me when I read it & he must thought his umi was crazy because I giggled most of the times. But when I reached the peak of the story, the giggle was long way gone, syafique was already aslept & I was crying, weeping & sobbing. I was so moved away & had to pause my reading. During that time, syawal was next to me & he said I was over reacting. I wished he read the novel too.

There are lots of moral values from this novel but the quote that stick in my mind is 'Living well is the best revenge'. Yes... no matter how bad you've been treated, don't fight back. You could fight back, but in a very 'smooth' way. Act with brain...

I read the novel on Friday night, so when I went to Portswood on Saturday, I went into each charity shop, very excited looking for Sophie's novel & I got two *yey*, Can You Keep a Secret & Remember Me. Even though I've read the Can You Keep a Secret, but it is not mine. I want to complete my Sophie Kinsella's novel collection. Another 3 titles from Shopaholis series, then my collection is complete. At the boot sales today, my search of her novels still continued, I did find some but I've got that titles. So... the search is still on.

New die hard fan of Sophie Kinsella...

Now I have something that make me happy & make most of my days. What is it? The answer is...read Sophie Kinsella's novels *BIG-GRIN*. She is so famous with her shopahalic series. She has 7 titles in this series & I have four of them. All bought @ a boot sales, 50p each. Defnitely a very good bargain! If you ask me about her novels.... they're all brilliants. I love & really love them all. Every chapter of her books has its own peak and when you reach the highest peak, you can't let the book down even for a second. You really can't wait to know what is the ending because the way Sophie wrote her stories, everything is so unpredictable. It could be anything & that is where the thrill comes :).

Below is all the titles in her shopaholic series in chronological order. I started with shopahalic & baby, I may be quite lost in the beginning with all the characters mentioned but still, it was easy to follow the rest of the story. Then I read, the 1st & 2nd title and filled all the gap that I faced when I read Shopaholic & Baby. Now I am reading the 3rd one, Shopaholic ties the knot. Will try to find the rest in the boot sales this sunday & it's not easy though, unlike Danielle Steel novels that you can find everywhere, but I don't really fancy Danielle Steel

Besides the shopaholic series, she also wrote novels about this lawyer (can't remember her name) & the stories are totally different from the shopaholic series. In fact, her 1st novel that I read was the Undomestic Goddess & it was unbelievably brilliant. The quote on the top of my page is actually taken from that novel.

There're actually 3 authors that I particularly like & my collection of these authors are almost complete. My fav author, Sidney Sheldon already passed away, definetely no more books by him :(. I also aware that there are no new novels by my othe fav authors, Judith McNaught & Jude Deveraux, left me quite unsettle as I desperately wanted to read novel. I really need to find a new author & I am very selective. I can't just pick any novels on the shelves. I only want to read a very good novel. How should I know that novel is good or not if I don't read them rite?? & that makes my situation becomes harder. How I started to know about Sophie Kinsella?? Well, thanks a lot for my bloghopping hobby. There were few blogs that mentioning about her & I guess she must be very good. Managed to find her book at boot sales & since then... you know the rest of the story. Now, I am new fan of Sophie Kinsella, or may I add die hard fan. Since she is still young (about my age maybe), I bet there'll be more titles from her later. So, what is so special about Sophie's novels?? Well, the most obvious thing when you read the shopaholic series is there will be no romantic (read:having sex) scenes. Everything is about Becky Bloomwood's obsession of shopping. She is really a BIG shopper. At one time I wish I could be her, shop everything anytime anywhere hhhhehehhe. Since Sophie is Brits so most of the places, labels in her books are familiar & made my reading experience more enjoyable.

My aim after this is to have a collection of all her titles & now I have a reason for me to go to a boot sales every week, huhuhu.... what a really lame excuse.
