eat,eat and eat

We just found a great eating place at Stansted Airport.  The fresh orange is really fresh & juicy.  The tuna wrap..............veerrryyy delicious.  Last but not least, the cheese cake..... yummilicious.

**On the way to the Stansted airport to send my FIL.  Very early morning flight.  Hope that restaurant is open**

**Yey... it's open & it's already 11pm.  Syafique is very sleepy**

**Our food is coming**

**Tuna wrap, cheese cake, fresh orange & latte.... yummy3x**

p/s:  The food at IKEA food court are very delicious & super duper cheap.  Sadly we're going back soon. If not we definitely will be regulars there.  It's only the parking rate is quite expensive.  Suddenly, I'm craving for the Daim cake...yummy2x.  (abang....when can we go there again???)

Boxing day

Yey... the most awaited day every year when u're in UK, at least for me :). Unlike last yr, I decided to spend it in Soton this year & what a very wise decision I've made. By just spending it in soton, I saved more money (not that much though) & energy. Even better, I managed to do some work which is the most important part.

So... where did I go?? Well, I just went to Debenham sales & it was just me who went there. I told syawal & syafique to just stay at home b'cause I know if they're there, I wouldn't find the peaceful of shopping, hehehhehehehe. Indeed I was right. However, I made sure everything was OK before I left. Even though Debenham opened as early as 7am, I cooked nasi lemak for them first & tidied up the house. What a very good wife I am, hehheheheh. The truth... I was playing a bit politic here. I've to make sure syawal is happy b'cos if he's happy, he'll whine less when he looks at what I buy later, heheheheheh.

I found my shopping spree was very enjoyable. I could look at everything w/out any pressure. Since my aim for that day was to look for bedding thingy, so I just concentrated on that section. In fact I only bought what I planned to buy & shirt/trousers for syafique. So proud of myself b'cause I managed to control my shopping desire. Only bought what I planned to. Well done Anom!!! After about 2hrs, done with my shopping. Got me 3 sets of king size & 1 single set beddings. The cost??? £***. Syawal was shocked at first when I told him the total cost but after showed him every single thing (plus little explanation on quality, bla, bla, bla) that I bought. OK.. approved. *phooh*. So relieved. Of course it is important I seek for his approval b'cause he is the payer, hikhikhik.

By noon went back home but later, I felt of going out again. Now, I am craving for coffee. Luckily syawal said OK. Then all of us went to West Quay, I had my blended strawberry @ Starbuck. This is my new fav & I foresee we'll be a regular at Starbuck after this *BigGrin*. I first saw this blended during our recent trip to Bicester village where I saw this one Chinese girl drank it. The moment I saw it, I wanted it straight away. The blended strawberry is so yummy even in this cold weather. At west quay we also bought syafique his first wrist watch. Now he knows how to look at the clock but still in the learning process. Also managed to do some window shopping, didn't buy anything at all as the big boss said *NO*.

Basically this is what I did on our last boxing day in UK. Do you think this is the end of my shopping spree???? Well..the answer is nope, hehehhehe. I am not done with the shopping yet.

Unfinished business

Recently we went to Birmingham for two reasons..... wait, not two but three reasons. However we only managed to get one of them done. Since we have unfinished business there, we 'll definitely go there again anytime soon, but not too soon, InsyaAllah.

Well, even though our plan didn't go as we planned, that didn't stop us from enjoying the holiday. We stayed at Travelodge at a very reasonable rate. Just @ £19/night, we got a very nice room located somewhere not far from Birm's town centre. Even syafique questioned us why we stayed only for a night there. This is my 1st visit to Birm. I knew it is the 2nd largest city in England, after London. Indeed it is a very big & busy city with lots of huge roundabouts. The good thing about Birm is we could get HALAL food very easy. We had dinner at one M'sian restaurant @ Star City. I think it is a Malay restaurant even though it's written Pan Asian restaurant b'coz when I looked at the menu, the used 'kangkung' and 'kailan' terms. They also have Char Kuey Teow. Syawal ordered that. On top of that, they have 'cili jeruk' exactly like in M'sia & I actually had been craving for it. What a coincidence :). I ordered M'sian Mee Goreng but that not good, especially in the appearance. We also Halal Subway sandwich. Also managed to do little sightseeing @ Birm city. I think the city is quite modern.

We also went to syawal's cyber friend's house. This friend had remind us again and again, that to go to his house whenever we're in Birm. Not to dissapoint him, we went to his house. he actually asked us to stay overnight at his house but knowing syawal..it's very unlikely it's gonna happen. However we don't know, maybe in the future syawal might change his decision. besides, he has quite a nice house with xtra bedroom for visitors.

I've uploaded the pictures from the trip in my photoblog. You can find it here and here.

New vocab

In the university, we have fruit/vege market on every Monday. During my recent visit there, I saw this banana which I thought must be either 'pisang tanduk' orr 'pisang nangka'. Not really sure which one. When I looked at the label, it said 'plaintain'. Since I've been craving for banana fritter a.k.a 'goreng pisang' for quite sometimes I just bought it. I bought three. At the till, I decided to ask the cashier wether they are type of banana but they said NO. Her answer made me think again, maybe they're not banana but since I've paid, I just took them.
When I reached the office, asked my off mate which are not English, said they are actually are banana. So relieved :). Now, I've learnt other word for need to cook banana. It's called.... PLANTAIN.

later that night I made banana fritters + kicap lada. Yummy, yummy. Me & syawal like it & the 3 plantain gone in our tummy.

Yey... I got keropok lekor losong

I've been waiting patiently since morning about the keropok lekor that I mentioned in my previous entry. I knew they were back b'cause I saw her MPV when we went out this afternoon. It's just the matter of did the food pass the custom??? Well.... I received the most awaited call from her about 4.15pm & yey... she got the keropok lekor & will send them to me ASAP.

I was really impressed with the pacakaging. Well, it's for export version...oooooo. I expected they would come in a newspaper wrapper, like usual. That's good. As soon after I performed my maghrib, I fried them. Can't wait to eat them... Anyway, this is not just an ordinary keropok lekor. This is keropok lekor losong. Those who don't know, Losong in Trg is very famous with its keropok lekor. The best keropok lekor can be found in Losong.

The moment I put it in my mouth... it so tasted like the original keropok lekor losong, even though they're the frozen version. Love it, love it, love it. I ate most of them of course. Didn't know why syafique didn't really like it. As far as I could remember, keropok lekor was always his fav when we were back in M'sia.

I have another half bag left for me to fry tomorrow morning. Hmmm... can't wait until that moment, hikhikhik.

Tiring Saturday

We just arrived from London about ten after eight just now & managed to watch part of X-Factor show *grin*. Now I feel so tired but I still want to write about what we're doing today. Well... syafique & sawal are both sleeping already. I guess Syafique is very tired too. Normally it takes about 1 hr for him to totally fell asleep after getting him on bed but tonight... <15 min, both of them dozed off.

Our first destination was to MSD cafe of course. Had our lovely lunch there. Me had rice + mixed vege + 'paru berlada' + 'pedal', while syawal had rice + mixed vege + beef rendang + squid. We also add sambal belacan & asam pedas ikan patin... Hmmm, yummy, yummy. Syawal drank teh tarik & me just water (FOC). The asam pedas was so delicious. Syafique didn't want rice, so he had roti canai. 2 pcs of roti canai & his fav drink, lycee juice with the actual fruit. No pix of the food as we're so buzy with our food, *wink*. The total cost for our lunch was £15. Quite cheap I think, in comparison with when u're eating @ Bonda/nahar. I wanted keropok lekor but they didn't sell any today, *sob, sob, sob*. I hope my craving is not b'cause of my pregnancy. I think this is just a normal craving of me who just really love to eat, :). My friend's mother is coming from M'sia. They're from Trg & few days ago, I did ask/tell her to bring some. Basically, her mother will bring some & hopefully the keropok lekor (plus other food that they bring too) pass the custom & my friend won't forget to give me some :)

After lunch, we prayed at the MSD payer room & then we walked to the nearby park. What a very nice exercise for us who just eating. A good & natural way to digest the food, rite? Just a short walking distance from the cafe to the park. I thought we're at Hyde Park, Later that we kenw that we're actually at Kensington garden, next to Hyde park. Doesn't matter anyway. Since we're already at the end of the autumn, most of trees are already bold but managed to fine few beautiful spots. Read.. trees with yellowish & goldish leaves. So...our photoshoot session officially began. It was quite difficult to take picture with syafique was bz running here & there. End up most of the pictures are my face (as usual). Luckily it wasn't that cold but it was cloudy, so couldn't get the best shot. The pix that I put here is from my compact digicam & most of the pix are actually in the other camera. I will upload those pics later in my photoblog which I don't know when I am going to upload them. I haven't even finished uploading the cornwall's holiday pix yet *grin*.

We spent about 3 hrs there, from MSD cafe & Kensington garden. Luckily the parking charge was really cheap today. Just £2.70 for 3hrs. This parking has flexible rate. When we entered the charge was 0.90p/hr. By the time left, the charge was already increased to 1.10/hr. So... the next time we hit London, will definitely park there. Plus, the parking is located at the main street & you can do window shopping as well along the street. I did buy some new designs of London fridge magnets :).

It was about 4pm that time & it was still early to go back to Soton. I actually had another plan in my mind that I didn't tell syawal before. So, when he asked me where to go next...I told him where I wanted to go. A store that sell Corelle *BiiiiiiiigGriiiiinn*. Luckily this place is close to the tossei shop that we always go. So went there & yup.... I love that shop. For today, I ONLY bought the vision 6 pcs set. Will definitely go there again. I am aiming for the casserole set & the dining set. Luckily syawal also a fan corelle, so he has no objection about buying corelle. Yey..yeyyy..... BTW, the store is Popat store @ Ealing Road wembley, close to Alperton Station. Just google the name & you can easily find Popat store.

By the time we finished our not-really-shopping at Popat, we're hungry again. Next destination, Chennai Dossa, our favourite tossei restaurant. Just few mins drive from Popat. We had 3 plain tossei & 1 onion tossei, the cost was only £7.++. Very cheap right?? We're really full after that & still full. Again, no pictures of the food. From there we headed home & the traffic was really smooth.

Sounds like our day today was fun right???? Yes.. indeed it was fun BUT there were few times I was really annoyed at syawal. Why?? Hmmm. What else? Him & his Xperia, *ggrrrrr*. He just installed voice recognition prog. into his Xperia & he kept playing with it, like kept asking the phone the battery level... Huh...so annoying. He also kept trying to turn on the mp3 song using that voice thingy which didn't work as he instructed, *double gggrrr*. And also, we're a bit lost when we're trying to find the Popat store. The satnav installed in that phone cannot accept full postcode so, a bit problem to reach the destination accurately. I did give him the shop's phone number. I hoped he call them asking for exact direction, instead of calling them, he browsed the net using his phone for I didn't know why. At the end, he did cal the shop for direction. Seriously... I was really annoyed. Anyway, I am glad I didn't blow out. The worst that I did just being sarcastic, also at a very minimal level.. Well, I don't want to spoil that lovely moment by me being cranky, hikhikhik. I never asked him what he has done to his phone b'cause I know if I ask, he'll definitely talk about it all the time. So I show no interest at all... At least I could save my ears from all these Xperia things for a while. It's been more than 2 wks since he bought the Xperia but his craziness still at the max level. I really don't know when this is gonna end.
